Sipho is back - Super funny

Sipho had a girlfriend, Lorraine, she was very pretty and he liked her a lot. One
day Sipho went to work and found a gorgeous new girl had come to work at
his office, named Clearly. He was quite smitten with her and she was very
interested in him too. But Sipho was a loyal man and wouldn’t do anything
with Clearly, while he was still with Lorraine.

He decided to break up with Lorraine and get it on with Clearly, but he
couldn’t bring himself to do it.

Then one day he and Lorraine went for a walk along the riverbank, she
slipped and fell into the river. The current carried Lorraine off and she
drowned. Sipho stopped for a moment by the river; then ran off smiling
& singing & smiling & singing.

What was he singing, you ask???

I can see Clearly now …. Lorraine is gone….

Rebecca St James

reb.jpg

St. James is an open supporter of teenage sexual abstinence, and has become an unofficial spokesperson for True Love Waits. The popular single “Wait For Me”, from her album Transform, encourages abstaining from sex outside of marriage. In 2000, it became the title and focus of a 46-city tour. St. James wrote the song herself while on a tour bus. Her third book, titled Wait for Me: Rediscovering the Joy of Purity in Romance, was published in 2002 and further addressed the issue. She also ardently supports the Pro-Life movement. She had a small, uncredited role in Left Behind as Kirk Cameron’s assistant.

She has written a book : AUTOGRAPHED: Wait for Me: Rediscovering the Joy of Purity in Romance (PaperbackEveryone longs to be loved deeply by someone, and Rebecca St. James is no different, as demonstrated by her hit song “Wait for Me.” In this revised and updated version of the 2002 release, Rebecca shares the same desires as other young people as her resolve to remain sexually pure until marriage is not common in our society. Using Scripture, pop culture, and her own experience as a point of reference, Rebecca paints a relevant and appealing picture of the value of waiting. But Rebecca also reaches out with compassion to those who have already made mistakes and reveals the mercy and healing that God brings. The new edition of this bestseller includes: a fresh design (inside and out) with eye-catching graphics; a new introduction from Rebecca; journaling sections throughout the book; and a study guide for personal or group use.

It is great to have someone to relate to in this walk with God and it is great that she is standing for something. Somethign so important to know as a teenager in order to save you so much pain in your adult life and your memory. Unfortunately the mistakes that we make are always in our memories.

So great for Rebecca and thank you for all your flowers.

Family and Loyalty

images.jpg

FAMILY

Psalms 68:6 says ‘God puts the solitary in family.’ I believe that is true of the Church. God takes people and puts them in a church family. I believe God created family. It is a ‘God-idea’. I believe God’s intention for family is powerful and strong. Out of family our potential can be found, our security can be established. Sadly, families can at times be a place of dysfunction and brokenness.

LOYALTY

By definition loyalty is the feeling of devotion, attachment, duty. I believe that loyalty and faithfulness are the very essence of God’s character.  His heart towards us is ever loyal, His love for us is completely heartfelt, and because of that He remains ever faithful (even when we are unfaithful towards Him).

Life is short and it is important to be planted in the right soil, so that you might prosper in life and reach your full God designed potential (Psalm 92, 3 John v2)

Psalm 145 tells of how “one generation shall tell your great works to another”, but without these wonderful qualities of loyalty and faithfulness, there is every chance that one generation won’t hang around long enough to tell another generation anything of substance.

WHY GOD

Jesus Christ came from Heaven to earth to bring “life and life more abundant” (John 10:10) and in Jeremiah 29:11,

God gives expression of His heart towards humanity -

“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

SARA BAREILLES LYRICS

My new favorite song, love the beat of the song !

SARA BAREILLES LYRICS

“Love Song”

Head under water.
And they tell me to breathe easy for a while.
The breathing gets harder, even I know that.
You made room for me but it’s too soon to see.
If I’m happy in your hands.

I’m unusually hard to hold on to.
Blank stares at blank pages.
No easy way to say this.
You mean well, but you make this hard on me.
I’m not gonna write you a love song.
’cause you asked for it.
’cause you need one, you see.

I’m not gonna write you a love song.
’cause you tell me it’s.
Make or break in this.
If you’re on your way.
I’m not gonna write you to stay.
If all you have is leaving I’m gonna need a better.
Reason to write you a love song today.

I learned the hard way.
That they all say things you want to hear.
And my heavy heart sinks deep down under you and.
Your twisted words,
Your help just hurts.
You are not what I thought you were.
Hello to high and dry.
Convinced me to please you.
Made me think that I need this too.
I’m trying to let you hear me as I am.

Promise me that you’ll leave the light on.
To help me see with daylight, my guide, gone.
’cause I believe there’s a way you can love me.
Because I say.
I won’t write you a love song.
’cause you asked for it.
’cause you need one, you see.

I’m not gonna write you a love song.
’cause you tell me it’s make or break in this.
Is that why you wanted a love song.
’cause you asked for it.
’cause you need one, you see.
I’m not gonna write you a love song.
’cause you tell me it’s make or break in this.
If you’re on your way.
I’m not gonna write you to stay.
If your heart is nowhere in it.
I don’t want it for a minute.
Babe, I’ll walk the seven seas when I believe that.
There’s a reason to.
Write you a love song today.

You wanted a letter

 images.jpg

Love, well it’s simple to fall in love, easy to love someone and effortless to say that you love someone. But then there is life. And life is what tests our love. Not only for each other, but for ourselves.

There is so much more to love than just falling in love. Love is special for each and every one of us. Love has a diverse meaning to each and every one of us. Love is shown and certain to each and every one of us in many different ways. And we can read so much about love; we can try and comprehend the universal connotation of love. But we will never be triumphant if we think it’s logical, if we think we can pin it down to something specific. Some specific feeling that comes over us and resides within us boiling and bubbling – ever ebbing.

But I have learnt that its not. It is different to each of us and grows differently in each of our lives. We feel it independently diverse and we give it in our own construed made-up idea of what is safely “feasible” to our own hearts. So there is no perfect love, no perfect way to love or be loved. There can be no perfect love other than how the Lord loves us. When humans are involved, love I am afraid, is tarnished, imperfect and terribly flawed.

We have all these emotions and feelings, past convictions and stains, future ideas and expectations. And it is all governed by so many things we don’t always have control over. We have our future dreams for our own lives, careers and families. Every day challenges and choices corrupt the wonderful flow of our willingness and desire to love.

When we are little children we want to be all grown up and when we are grown up we yearn to be little children once again. Without a care and strangely free. When we grow to be teenagers we have insecurities and puberty that makes us fancy being adult and when we are adults and the insecurities pass we find ourselves wrinkled and wishing we only lived without a care. We fear growing old.

The same with love. When we are single all we want is to love and be loved. All we crave is to meet that special person with whom we can spend our lives with. We dream of all the special things we would do with our unique soul mates, all the superb things we would share. We dream up magical dates, breakfast romance and lunch box notes. Evening moonlit dinners and lunch picnic surprises.

And when we meet that special person we feel that all our dreams and desires have been met. Our idea of love has come knocking on the door and we let them in. Not knowing that right next to love life walks in too. Alas life has been there all along, and someone else’s life bonds to yours. It fills up the entire room, moves into every space of your heart, your thoughts and all your routines. And our hearts really start to love.

And then the space gets smaller, it moves together to merge. Our hearts are still besieged by all this emotion. But our expectation of what love is changes and it compromises. Fairy tales you see are just that – a fairy tale with a happily ever after. And those are hard to come by in this thing called life.

There is no life in fairy tales. And life, well ….

Life comes with reality. It comes with harsh realities of different personalities and these personalities come with many emotions and feelings. It comes with hormones, male and female. And male and female, well with you know whatever male and female comes with.

Then there is the past, and with the past comes the future and with the future we have the present. And how love fits into all of this depends on who we are and what we want from life. Who we are individually and who we choose to hook our souls up with and who we choose to spend most of our time with.

I guess what I am trying to say is that love can only be what we make of it. What we want from it and how we want to receive it.

And sometimes that can be dangerous. So do we set our own rules – to keep it save?

A set of rules based on our morals, principles and ethics? Values grown from experience moved by ethic! Having the same desire and strong parallel future outlook?

Rules are easy to find, easy to establish but greatly difficult to uphold and adhere to. But that is what makes it worth while. It doesn’t come easy and highlights the discipline of who we choose to be with. And the rest, well, we have ascertained that we do suite each other. We have the same set of goals and the same future expectations of our individual success. We have very similar drives. But we need to be reminded that one life is easily lived selfishly and two lives lived very differently in the past is easy work to bring together but hard work to keep together.

We love differently

We feel love differently

We give and show love differently

We need to constantly patiently teach each other through this love how to handle these differences. We need to forget past tribulations and trials and move on with experience and no regrets. Our anger needs to be set aside but recognized and mastered. Molded and shaped in a manner that we do not easily get angered. We need to understand what triggers the reaction and try and be sensitive towards those feelings and triggers. Teaching ourselves and learning from each other.

We need to constantly learn how to love each other. Because love is not just a feeling or simply a word. Love is always a work in progress and it needs to be nurtured which at times can be tough.

For that is how we know it is worth it.

What are your expectations of love and what are they for the future. What is love to you? How do you love and how do you feel loved.

For we are love, always love

And love always is

Always have been YOU

From the very first minute I laid my eyes on you.

The Airport shall always be my most favorite place.

Your girl Belle x

22 April - EARTH DAY

edn_8_05.gif

 http://ww2.earthday.net/

This is what America and their people are doing today for our Earth. What is South Africans doing ?

Are we getting together thinking of something big, going big like the Americans always go ? Or are we silently hoping in our individual little lives that someone else would make the difference. Make the move, take on something big, think of something big ?

I want to be corrected, tell me SA what are we doing to make this better ?

How many degrees separate us from the tragedy of global warming?

Jack Johnson

splash_allatoncecommunity-2.jpg SLEEP THROUGH THE STATIC

biography

Before Jack Johnson perfected his rock star ways, he was a champion surfer on the professional route, with a sponsorship with Quiksilver. It was a life that was second nature for the Hawaiian native, for he began chasing waves as a toddler, and by the time he was 17, he was an outstanding athlete on the pipeline. However, Johnson was also testing his other creative outlets — one being film and the other being music.

It was during his college years as a film student at University of California at Santa Barbara when Johnson began writing songs. He and old mates Chris Malloy and Emmett Malloy produced a surf cinema documentary entitled Thicker Than Water, in turn spotlighting Johnson as a talented cinematographer as well as a burgeoning singer/songwriter. His peers in and around the surf circuit praised his work, and Thicker Than Water received props in Surfer magazine for Video of the Year during 2000. The follow-up surf flick The September Sessions also earned the Adobe Highlight Award at the ESPN Film Festival that same year.

Still, Johnson steered away from a blossoming pro sports career and stuck with music — something that would soon earn him additional honors. G. Love & Special Sauce quickly took notice to Johnson’s lazy blues stylings, which also molded folk and hip-hop for a modern rock twist, and included Johnson on “Rodeo Clowns” from G. Love’s 1999 release Philadelphonic. Johnson’s four-track demo also caught the ears of Ben Harper’s right-hand man, J.P. Plunier. This was surely mind-blowing for Johnson, for Harper’s college rock mainstay Fight for Your Mind was one of his favorites and remained an inspiration. Aside from Plunier’s production work, Harper also added his lap steel guitar work on Johnson’s sultry debut, Brushfire Fairytales (Enjoy Records), in winter 2001.

Two co-headlining tours followed throughout spring and summer 2002; Johnson’s sophomore effort, On and On, appeared in May 2003. Stateside dates with Harper followed in June and July. A third album, In Between Dreams arrived in March 2005, narrowly missing the top of the Billboard album chart in the process. Johnson earned two Brit Awards for In Between Dreams: International Male Solo Artist and International Breakthrough Act. In February, Johnson issued the soundtrack Curious George. Nielsen SoundScan sales topped at 163,000 copies in its first week of release, earning Johnson his first-ever number one album on Billboard’s Top 200 and Rock Albums charts. His sixth album, Sleep Through the Static, was released in February 2008. ~ MacKenzie Wilson, All Music Guide

JACK JOHNSON LYRICS

“Sleep Through The Static”!

Trouble travels fast.
When you’re specially designed for crash testing.
Or wearing wool sunglasses in the afternoon.
Come on and tell us what you’re trying to prove.

Because it’s a battle when you dabble in war.
You store it up, unleash it, then you piece it together.
Whether the storm drain running rampant just stamp it
And send it to somebody who’s pretending to care.

Just cash in your blanks for little toy tanks.
Learn how to use them, then abuse them and choose them.
Over conversations relationships are overrated.
“I hated everyone” said the sun.

And so I will cook all your books.
You’re too good looking and mistooken.
You could watch it instead.
From the comfort of your burning beds.
…Or you can sleep through the static.

Who needs sleep when we’ve got love?
Who needs keys when we’ve got clubs?
Who needs please when we’ve got guns?
Who needs peace when we’ve gone above
But beyond where we should have gone?
We went beyond where we should have gone.

Stuck between channels my thoughts all quit..
I thought about them too much, allowed them to touch.
The feelings that rained down on the plains all dried and cracked.
Waiting for things that never came

Shock and awful thing to make somebody think.
That they have to choose pushing for peace supporting the troops.
And either you’re weak or you’ll use brut force-feed the truth.
The truth is we say not as we do.

We say anytime, anywhere, just show your teeth and strike the fear.
Of god wears camouflage, cries at night and drives a dodge.
Pick up the beat and stop hogging the feast.
That’s no way to treat an enemy.

Well mighty mighty appetite.
We just eat ‘em up and keep on driving.
Freedom can be freezing take a picture from the pretty side.
Mind your manners wave your banners.
What a wonderful world that this angle can see.

But who needs to see what we’ve done?
Who needs please when we’ve got guns?
Who needs keys when we’ve got clubs?
Who needs peace when we’ve gone above.
But beyond where we should have gone?
Beyond where we should have gone.
We went beyond where we should have gone.
Beyond where we should have gone.

Tears of Darling

In the shadow of the night, through the dusk of the dawn,

Lay a burdened light dusted and outlawn

There are tears entangled in her frosty hair

Lying small song defeated

These are her tears of darling

Her tears and frowns of her youth

She stares at the moon and awakes to the stars shooting into her heart

She feels enthralled at this new beginning and the coming of her new dawn

The tears in her frosted hair turn to crystal

The blue in her eyes wrapped in the stars and their sparkle

This is a new day fr the tears of Darling

A day to start shining bright with the lash of the sun

Wake up tears of darling and celebrate this new moon

The break of a new dawn.
